Plantar Fasciitis Surgery (Endoscopic Release and/or Gastrocnemius Recession)

For patients with chronic plantar fasciitis who do not respond to conservative treatments, surgery may be recommended. Endoscopic plantar fascia release involves cutting part of the plantar fascia ligament to reduce tension and relieve pain. In cases where calf muscle tightness contributes to the condition, a gastrocnemius recession (lengthening of the calf muscle) may be performed to improve flexibility and alleviate pressure on the plantar fascia.
