Bunionette (Tailor’s Bunion)

A bunionette is a painful, bony bump that forms on the outside of the foot near the little toe. It develops when the fifth metatarsal bone shifts outward, often due to wearing narrow or tight shoes that apply pressure to this area. Like a traditional bunion, a bunionette can cause discomfort, redness, and swelling, particularly when wearing shoes. If the condition progresses, it may interfere with walking and daily activities. Treatment options range from conservative methods like padding and shoe modifications to surgery for more severe cases.
