Fracture
A forefoot fracture is a break in one of the bones in the front of the foot, often caused by trauma or overuse. Symptoms include pain, swelling, bruising, and difficulty bearing weight on the foot. Some fractures, such as stress fractures, develop gradually and may cause intermittent discomfort before becoming more painful. Proper diagnosis and treatment are crucial to ensure the bones heal correctly. Depending on the severity of the fracture, treatment may involve immobilization with a cast or walking boot. In more complex cases, surgical intervention to realign and stabilize the bones is necessary.
