Morton Neuroma
Morton’s neuroma is a painful condition that affects the nerves between the toes, most commonly between the third and fourth toes. The condition occurs when the tissue around the nerve thickens, often due to irritation from wearing improper shoes or due to forefoot deformity. Symptoms include sharp pain, burning, and a feeling of numbness or tingling in the affected toes. The discomfort may worsen over time and can make walking difficult. Treatment involves relieving pressure on the nerve through changes in footwear, orthotics, or in severe cases, surgery to remove the thickened tissue.
